"He is the half part of a blessed man
Left to be finished by such as she
And she a fair divided excellence
Whose fulness of perfection lies in him."

Weddings
Music is a very important part of your wedding ceremony. Carefully chosen and beautifully executed music will help create cherished memories of this special event.
Consultation
Each Bride and Groom is unique and I look forward to assisting you with the selection and coordination of music for your ceremony. We will discuss your musical preferences and songs that you may already have in mind. I can also make suggestions regarding appropriate pieces for different parts of your ceremony, and will gladly play through any pieces you'd like to hear.
Before scheduling a consultation, please determine the following:
- Does your venue provide an accoustic piano on-site? If so, is the piano is in good condition (recently tuned and functioning properly)?
- If you've chosen a church wedding, does the church require that you use the services of an in-house pianist or organist for your wedding music?
- Some churches don't allow secular love songs during services. Please ask your pastor, priest or clergy member what type of music is appropriate.
Order of Music Placement for the Wedding Ceremony
A typical wedding ceremony includes the following:
- Prelude: Elegant, romantic music for 20-30 minutes prior to the ceremony as your guests are seated.
- Processionals: Joyful music for entry of the bridal party, and a majestic selection to announce the Bride.
- Recessional: Festive music for the married couple as they leave.
- Postlude: Music to entertain the guests as they are ushered out of the hall.
Music is also appropriate for communion, candle lighting, and other parts of the ceremony. It's your day and your choice.
Wedding Rehearsal
I plan to attend the wedding rehearsals, as a rehearsal is critical to insure that the bride and groom can relax and feel confident that everything will go as planned at the ceremony.
Additional Wedding Services
Soloists
I'd be happy to accompany vocalists or instrumentalists. Soloists are expected to provide original sheet music (not a photocopy), and learn their music prior to rehearsing with me. Vocalists must provide music in the proper key. For basic and common music and for experienced musicians, a short rehearsal may be adequate; however, for complex music, or for soloists with little experience working with an accompanist, a longer rehearsal time will be necessary.
Special Requests
I'll do my best to include any special selections. If I don't have your request, you may need to provide sheet music (original, not a photocopy). If I need to purchase sheet music for your special request, I'll ask to be reimbursed for the cost.
Fees
My basic wedding fee includes the initial consultation, wedding rehearsal, prelude, ceremony, recessional and postlude. Additional fees will apply for accompanying a soloist, travel fees and sheet music for special requests.
Please contact me for my current rates.
Scheduling and Confirming Your Event
After consulting with the bride and/or groom to select the music, I'll prepare a simple contract. The contract will include all pertinent information, total fee, deposit, and balance owing. To reserve my services, a 20% non-refundable deposit and signed contract are required within seven (7) days of the consultation. The deposit then applies towards the total fee. The balance of the fee is due 10 days before the wedding date.
